The Birmingham Police Department reports that two suspects have been charged in connection with an arson investigation. The arrests are related to the ongoing arson investigations in the western area of Birmingham. Although investigations of additional locations are still ongoing, these arrests are associated with 2901 Ensley Avenue and 2532 Warrior Road. One suspect charged in this investigation is an employee of the Birmingham Police Department. The employee charged has been identified as:  Jason Arnold, W/M, 35, of Hoover, Alabama.Hire Date: April 13, 2009 Assignment: Field Operations Bureau (West Precinct) 2300-0700 Rank: Officer An Arson warrant (2901 Ensley Avenue) with a $150,000 bond has been obtained against the suspect.  A second suspect has been identified as:Anthony Weaver, B/M, 48, of Birmingham, Alabama. An Arson warrant (2532 Warrior Road) with a $60,000 bond has been obtained against the suspect. The second suspect is not an employee of the City of Birmingham. |
