Spring time in Alabama means one thing to more than 84,000 Alabama youth….4-H Competitive events!!!!
Nearly every county in Alabama has individual competitions or entire day events where youth gather to give their best and Jefferson County is no different!.  Some 4-H’ers come to show off their best cooking skills, some come to give their best speech or show off their creative and/ or construction side, others come to just have fun.
For organizers – the Jefferson County Extension Office – it takes days of planning and a hands-on staff to ensure youth have an enjoyable experience.  With the help of parents and volunteers the one-day event is always exciting and fun!
On Saturday, June 23rd the northwest Alabama Regional Congress will be held at Bevill State Community College in Sumiton, Alabama. Youth from Blount, Cullman, Etowah, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, St. Clair, Walker, Winston and of course Jefferson County will be competing.  Please come out and support our 4-H’ers.  If you would like to be a facilitator and/ or a judge for this exciting event please contact us.
